Action: Interpol has received information that a cargo ship in the South China Sea is carrying chemical weapon precursors and missile parts.  This shipment is likely heading towards the Middle East and will be used to escalate the conflict within the region.

 

Impact: Illegal Chemical Weapon Use

Imminent Humanitarian Crisis

Illegal Weapon Smuggling

Loss of Confidence in Interpol

Loss of Military Assets within the Region

 

Requested Response:

Immediate assistance for Interpol Agents to intercept the shipment.  States within the United Nations must look to find the source of these weapons and act accordingly to prevent further illegal smuggling within the International Community.

 

Failure to Act:

Failure to Act by the International Community will only result in unnecessary human suffering and further destabilization of the Middle East.  Weapons will cause future military and civilian casualties within the region.

 

Conclusion:

The International Community is capable of stopping illegal arms smuggling throughout the globe.  Resources such as, International Arms Control Regimes, are willing to help states enforce the law.  However, they need states to assist in enforcing the law.
