The Dangers of Using Cyberattacks to Counter Nuclear Threats

Summary: Andrew Futter outlines the effects of using cyberattacks as anti-nuclear measures.  The article states that there are appealing factors to using cyberspace. There economic and efficiency means that could make it appealing.  Then it’s outlined that using cyberattacks can be very detrimental.  It causes the loss of things like M.A.D. and confidence building measures.  It opens up the chance for other countries to use these means, and it could mean that our vulnerabilities can be exploited.

Significance: The use of cyber attacks brings about more dangers than help when it comes to nuclear powers.  Using these systems could open pandoras box and cause things like war between countries, MAD, and give non-nuclear actors means to nuclear warfare.
