Trump Officials Tried To Rush Nuclear Technology To Saudis, House Panel Finds

Trump administration officials have been rushing forward plans for the sale of nuclear materials to Saudi Arabia. These plans may be both in violation of law, and for the personal benefit of current and former members of the administration, including the former National Security Adviser, Retired General Michael Flynn.

Significance: The Trump administration and its members continue to violate ethical and legal norms; both individually and as a matter of policy. Flynn worked in concert with IP3 International and continued to advocate for them after joining the administration. This is particularly concerning given the role Saudi Arabia has played in international terrorism in the past, and the nations continued acts of aggression and the recent murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The transfer of nuclear technology may violate the Atomic Energy Act which requires congressional approval for the transfer.
