Congress passes bill ending sanctions on Yemen

Congressional News Desk Bulletin:

Congress has officially passed a resolution to end US support for the war in Yemen.

The Resolution is tied to a Bill that amends section 36 of the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2776). Implementation of this bill will have the effect of ending US sales of arms to belligerents in the Yemen crisis.

The goal of this bill according to Senator Menendez is to preserve congressional review and oversight of foreign arms sales and for other purposes.
