SUMMARY: In this interview, Brooking brought together eight scholars and affiliates to discuss the shifting balance and prioritization of strategic stability and non-proliferation. These scholars discussed how the classic bilateral arms control model is strained because of the current security climate, how the current security environment is no longer able to create successful non-proliferation regimes, how the U.S. and Russia have managed to cooperate under the strained security climate, and how policymakers need to take into account new technologies and their never-ending improvements.
IMPORTANCE: This is interview is important because it gives different perspectives on what the security environment has become and how policymakers can potentially fix it.
