VERTIC participates in EU CBRN CoE and BACAC conference in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

170 representatives from both nations and international organizations attended a biosafety and biosecurity conference in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The conference was organized by the European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative (EU CBRN CoE) and the Biosafety Association of Central Asia and the Caucasus (BACAC)

Implications: The goals of the conference was to foster coordination and cooperation and strengthen ties while working to create policies and legislation to combat biological and chemical weapons concerns. VERTIC specifically hosted presentations on legislative implementation and emergency response.
